PHILOKALIA BOOKSTORE
Enhance your spiritual journey with a visit to the Philokalia Bookstore. Our bookstore serves as a resource for the entire community, offering a curated selection of:
- Orthodox Literature: Bibles, prayer books, and spiritual writings for all ages.
- Sacred Items: Holy icons, prayer ropes, incense, and vigil lamps.
- Gifts & Media: Orthodox music, videos, and seasonal items.
- Located within our parish, we are open on Sundays following Divine Liturgy and by appointment during the week.
Youth Ministries
Our youth programs offer a vibrant space for children and teens to build lifelong friendships while deepening their life in Christ. Through fellowship, service, and athletics, our youth experience the Orthodox faith in action.
JOY (Grades K–5): Building a foundation of faith and community through fun, engaging activities.
Jr. GOYA (Grades 6–8): Navigating the middle school years with a Christ-centered perspective.
GOYA (Grades 9–12): Developing leaders through worship, retreats, and philanthropic projects.
St. Nicholas Athletics
Our sports programs foster teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship within a supportive Orthodox environment. We take pride in our competitive spirit and the bonds formed on the court.
- Basketball: Open to various age groups, our teams compete in local leagues, focusing on skill development and parish pride.
- Volleyball: A dynamic program for our youth to build coordination and community through friendly competition.
- Team Spirit: Our athletes represent St. Nicholas Flushing with excellence, both in character and performance.
Ladies Philoptochos Society
As the philanthropic heart of our parish, the St. Nicholas Philoptochos dedicated to helping the poor, the sick, and the distressed. Our members transform faith into action through local and national charitable outreach.
- Philanthropy: Providing direct aid to families in need and supporting global relief efforts.
- Community: Hosting seasonal fundraisers, luncheons, and events that unite our parish.
- Service: Fulfilling our mission to "love the poor" through compassion, kindness, and prayer.
Men’s League
Founded on the principles of brotherhood and service, the Men’s League brings together the men of St. Nicholas to support the growth and maintenance of our beloved community.
- Brotherhood: Building lasting friendships through monthly meetings, golf outings, and annual fishing trips.
- Parish Support: Providing vital volunteer hours and financial support for our annual Festival and church projects.
- Community Outreach: Organizing food drives and charitable donations to help our neighbors in Flushing.
