THE CHURCH ONLINE

TAKE THE CHURCH WITH YOU ANYWHERE

While nothing replaces the experience of worshipping together in person, we offer a live stream of our services for those unable to join us in the sanctuary. You can follow our liturgical life from home through our official Facebook page.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Here at St. Nicholas Church, our message and mission is to help people know Jesus, stay curious and live out their faith.

  • When are your services?

We invite you to join us in communal prayer and worship. For specific times and dates of our Divine Liturgies, Feast Days, and weekday sacraments, please refer to our Eortologion (Calendar of Services) located above.

Sunday Worship: Our primary gathering for the Divine Liturgy.

Special Observances: Detailed schedules for Lenten services, Holy Week, and Major Feast Days are updated monthly in the calendar.

  • What should I wear?

In the Greek Orthodox tradition, the church is the "House of God" and a sacred space for prayer. We kindly ask that visitors and parishioners dress in a manner that reflects reverence for the Divine Presence by choosing "Sunday Best" or modest, conservative clothing. By ensuring shoulders are covered and attire is dignified in length and fit, we maintain a prayerful environment where all can focus on the Holy Mysteries without distraction.

  • Who may receive Holy Communion?

In the Orthodox tradition, Holy Communion is the highest expression of our unity in faith. Therefore, only baptized and chrismated Orthodox Christians who have prepared themselves through prayer, fasting, and recent Confession should approach the Chalice. We welcome all visitors to join us in prayer and to receive the Antidoron (blessed bread) distributed at the end of the service as a sign of fellowship.

  • How can I learn about the Orthodox Faith?

We love sharing the "pearl of great price" that is our faith! You can begin by attending our weekly Divine Liturgy or joining one of our seasonal Bible Study sessions. For those seeking a deeper dive, we offer Catechism classes and a well-stocked parish bookstore filled with the writings of the Church Fathers and contemporary theologians.

  • How do I follow along with the service?

Orthodox worship is a sensory experience involving the whole person. We provide liturgical books in the pews that contain the text of the Divine Liturgy in both Greek and English to help you follow the prayers and hymns. While the service may feel complex at first, we invite you to simply "come and see," allowing the icons, incense, and chanting to lead you into a state of prayer. Please feel free to stand or sit as you are comfortable, following the lead of the congregation.
